Mike Massimino – American engineer and former NASA astronaut who is now a professor of mechanical engineering at Columbia University. Massimino is a veteran of two Space Shuttle missions, both of which serviced the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), including the historic final repair mission. Alan Nichols – President of the Explorers Club from March 2012 to March 2015 – He has carried the Explores Club Flag on nine expeditions that have focused on sacred mountains, ancient roads and traditional cultures around the globe. He was the first person to bicycle 10,300 miles from Istanbul to Xian in China, following the legendary ‘Silk Web’ and the first Westerner to circumambulate Mt Kailas in Tibet. Bruce Blanchard – Recipient of the Edward C Sweeney Memorial Medal for services to the Washington Group of the Explorer’s club, one of the most successful groups Richard & Laetitia Garriott de Cayeaux – Richard is a video game developer and entrepreneur. He is also known as his alter egos Lord British in Ultima and General British in Tabula Rasa. A well-known figure in the video game industry, Garriott was originally a game designer and programmer and now engages in various aspects of computer game development and business. Laetitia works for Escape Dynamics, Inc. a Colorado-based R&D company focused on novel aerospace technologies. Captain Alfred Scott McLaren – Retired US Navy and President of The American Polar Society, is a lecturer, writer, and research scientist. His area of scientific research is the role of the Polar Regions in global climate change, and he has traveled extensively in both the Arctic and Antarctic. He is the author of over 50 research papers in scientific professional journals. He is also Director of Sub Aviator Systems LLC and Senior Pilot of their revolutionary new submersible the Super Aviator. Captain McLaren is a Director of the Institute of Nautical Archaeology at Texas A&M and President Emeritus of The Explorers Club, founded in 1904 to promote scientific exploration and field research.
