The Third Wave
This project focuses on organized social groups of people. Photographed in interesting places around the world, each is chosen for their visual interest.
‘The Third Wave’ refers to the focus on groups of people. The first wave would be oneself, the 2nd is one’s family and the Third would be the groups one is part of.
The backdrop is interjected into each piece to allow this to be a portrait, rather than a landscape shot. The focus is primarily on the subjects, with the location being an additive, but secondary element of the image.
Each image is created by photographing the subject individually or in pairs.
These images are then composited together and the ‘back plate’ is added in to create a collage.
